“ Two years before we adopted our girl, Bernadette, we had contacted Johanna Haab with Lone Tree Bernese about their current litter. We were interested in a pup but hesitant whether we were ready. Johanna was helpful with her guidance and support and was open to us visiting Hazel and her puppies. There was no pressure to commit as she understood that we were unsure of the commitment a puppy would require. We had decided that we weren’t ready yet but Johanna maintained communication throughout the two years as they had prepared the beautiful Hazel for her next litter. When she told me Hazel was expecting last winter, I was excited to tell her that we were ready.
We had frequent updates on Hazel’s condition and when the puppies were born, we got pictures and information right away. A couple of weeks afterward, we got to meet the litter. Johanna’s family is so wonderful and allowed us to visit Hazel and the pups a few times. These pups were being raised with four kind, and active children who would help prepare our future pup for a life with our family.
Tears were shed the day we took Bernadette home because they love and care for these dogs so much. Bern is now 9 months old and we adore her. She is strong, energetic, always up for a snuggle, has bonded with our senior Bernese Mountain Dog (Millie), and is ready for any adventure we take her on.”
